Watch out
- SkipCalls states on its own call-transcription page that it is not HIPAA compliant, and no plan, add-on or enterprise tier on the pricing page offers a Business Associate Agreement. A dental, medical or veterinary practice cannot use it for patient calls under HIPAA even though the vendor markets industry pages to dentists, chiropractors and clinics.
- The only free way in is a 7-day trial on Starter; after it the cheapest path is $19.99/month. The vendor's own FAQ frames the free period as time-limited ('only be charged after the 7-day free trial'), and the plan table shows no $0 tier.
- Named monthly call ceilings: Starter up to 200 calls, PRO up to 350, and the Business plan switches to 1,000 minutes. The fair-usage page says service is not cut off but that consistently exceeding the cap triggers a conversation about moving to PRO, Business or a custom Enterprise plan.

- Cost at 500 calls a month
Partlyfrom Business
$176.50 a month on Business for 500 calls of 2.5 minutes (1250 billed minutes). Billing increment not stated: computed per second (2.5 min a call). If they round each call up to the minute (3 min), it is $224. Starter, PRO might cost less, but no overage price is published, so it could not be priced past its allowance.

Business For busy teams and multiple locations $129 /mo

- What it bills by
Starter and PRO meter whole calls rather than minutes, so call length never matters; the higher Business plan switches to a 1,000-minute allowance instead.
Their words
We count calls, not minutes. A 2-minute call and a 15-minute call both count as one.
skipcalls.comFair Usage Policy, 'Why calls, not minutes' section
- Past your allowance
Partly
Nothing is cut off or auto-charged past the call allowance on Starter and PRO; the vendor contacts you to move plans, while Business sells extra minutes at a published rate.
Their words
First — relax. We're not going to cut you off, throttle your service, or charge you surprise fees. Nothing bad happens automatically.
skipcalls.comFair Usage Policy, 'What if I go over my plan's calls?' section
- Spam calls not billed
Yes
Spam is screened on every plan at no extra cost, and the vendor states spam calls do not count against the plan's fair-usage call allowance.
Their words
Spam blocking is included in the standard $199/year plan at no additional cost. Every call is automatically screened.

- After-hours rules
Yes
Answering runs nights, weekends and holidays, and you can configure different out-of-hours behaviour including Do Not Disturb windows where no call is forwarded.

Yes

Their words
